Product description
Wrist & Forearm Splint is a clinically authoritative orthopaedic immobilisation device designed to maintain the wrist in a neutral or functionally extended position—typically10–15 degrees of dorsiflexion—which reduces intra-carpal pressure, minimises tendon strain, and promotes healing of the soft tissues and bony structures of the wrist and distal forearm.
The splint incorporates a pre-formed aluminium or thermoplastic palmar stay that provides rigid structural support while conforming to the natural curvature of the palm and forearm.
This stay is encased in a padded, breathable fabric sleeve that protects the skin and distributes pressure evenly, preventing the formation of pressure sores—a common complication of rigid immobilisation.
Primary clinical indications include carpal tunnel syndrome (conservative management and post-surgical support), de Quervain’s tenosynovitis, distal radius fractures (Colles’ fracture and Smith’s fracture post-reduction), wrist sprains, scaphoid fractures, TFCC injuries, and post-wrist arthroscopy rehabilitation.
The splint is also used prophylactically in occupational settings to prevent repetitive strain injuries in workers performing high-repetition manual tasks.
The adjustable Velcro closure straps at the wrist and mid-forearm allow clinicians to fine-tune compression and positioning with precision, and enable rapid donning and doffing for hygienic wound inspection and physiotherapy exercises.
Available in left and right hand configurations, and in sizes XS to XL, the splint accommodates the full spectrum of adult patient populations.
The breathable lining fabric is antibacterial-treated to minimise odour and skin irritation during extended wear.
The palmar stay can be removed for laundering in most variants, making long-term use practical and hygienic.
Key Features: Pre-formed aluminium/thermoplastic palmar stay; anatomical neutral wrist positioning; padded breathable lining; adjustable Velcro closures; left and right hand options; available in XS–XL; indicated for carpal tunnel syndrome, fractures, sprains, TFCC injuries, and occupational injury prevention; suitable for clinical and home use.
