Product description

The Alixor Thumb Wrist Belt is a targeted orthopaedic support product designed to address conditions affecting the thumb ray and the radio-carpal joint—an area of the hand that bears extraordinary functional demand in daily activities ranging from gripping and pinching to typing and lifting.

The belt is constructed from a combination of breathable elastic fabric, neoprene, and rigid or semi-rigid thumb spica elements.

The thumb post stabilises the carpometacarpal (CMC) andmetacarpophalangeal (MCP) joints of the thumb, limiting the painful abduction and extension movements that characterise conditions such as de Quervain’s tenosynovitis, basal thumb osteoarthritis, UCL sprains (skier’s thumb), and trigger thumb.

Unlike a full thumb spica cast, the Alixor Thumb Wrist Belt maintains the integrity of grip and finger function by leaving the fingers free, allowing patients to continue activities of daily living with minimal functional compromise.

The wrist component provides additional radio-carpal stability, making this an ideal choice for combined wrist-thumb pathologies that are commonly seen in clinical practice.

The product is particularly valued in occupational therapy and hand therapy settings, where it serves as a conservative management tool that can delay or avert the need for surgical intervention.

Athletes involved in racquet sports, climbing, and ball sports who sustain thumb UCL injuries frequently use this product during the rehabilitation and return-to-sportphases.

Available in left and right configurations and in sizes XS to L based on wrist circumference, the belt features hook-and-loop Velcro fastenings for easy self-application.

It is machine washable and durable enough for extended clinical use.
